Teleprompter - Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 18, 2026
Sushmita Kumari ("we", "our", "us") is an independent app developer and makes the Teleprompter for Video: Tele mobile application (the "App" or "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains, in plain language, what information the App handles, where it goes, who else is involved, how long it is kept, and what choices you have.
By downloading or using the App, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
In Short
- Your scripts and your recorded videos stay on your device. We never upload them and we never see them.
- The camera and microphone are used only while you are recording, on your device.
- If you use the AI Script Generator, only the text prompt you type is sent to our server and on to our AI provider, so a script can be written for you. Nothing else is attached to it.
- We do not ask you to create an account and we do not ask for your name, phone number, or address.
- The App shows ads and uses analytics tools. Those tools use device identifiers, and on iOS we ask your permission first through Apple's tracking prompt.
- We do not sell your personal information.
1. Information the App Handles
a) Content you create, which stays on your device
The following is saved in the App's private storage on your device only. It is not sent to us, and we have no way to read it:
- Scripts you write, edit, or import (for example text or PDF files you choose to bring in).
- Script titles, formatting, font size, colours, scrolling speed, mirroring, and other settings.
- Videos you record with the App, and their audio.
- App preferences, such as your chosen language and video quality.
If you delete a script or a video in the App, or delete the App itself, this content is removed from your device. Because we never receive a copy, we cannot restore it for you, so please keep your own backup of anything important.
b) Information sent when you use certain features
- AI Script Generator. The prompt text you type and the topic or category you pick are sent to our server so a script can be generated. See Section 3.
- Short setup questions. When you first open the App, you may be asked what kind of videos you make, where you plan to post them, and how often you record. Your answers are sent to us as anonymous survey answers so we know which features to build next. They are not linked to you, your device, or any identifier. You can skip these questions.
- Support emails. If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you write. Your mail app may also attach a short technical summary (app version, device model, iOS version, language, free storage, connection type) so we can reproduce the problem. You can delete that summary before sending.
c) Information collected automatically
Our analytics and advertising partners (see Sections 5 and 6) may collect:
- Device type, model, operating system version, and app version
- Language and approximate country or region
- IP address
- Device identifiers, including Apple's Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA) where you allow tracking, and a per-vendor identifier
- In-app events, such as opening a screen, starting a recording, or tapping a button
- Advertising data, such as which ads were requested, shown, or clicked
- Crash reports and performance data
d) Purchases
The App offers optional subscriptions and a one-time lifetime purchase. Payment is handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never receive or store your card details. We receive your purchase and subscription status so premium features can be unlocked, and we log purchase events (such as purchase started, succeeded, failed, or restored) in our analytics.
e) Identifiers and similar technologies
Inside the App, our advertising and analytics partners use device identifiers and local storage rather than website cookies, for ad delivery, frequency capping, fraud prevention, and measurement. In the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, an advertising consent window may appear, and your choice is stored on your device so you are not asked again every time. This website page itself does not set advertising or tracking cookies.
2. Device Permissions
The App asks only for the permissions it needs, and only at the moment the feature is used. You can change any of them later in Settings > Privacy & Security on your device.
- Camera. To record video while your script scrolls. The camera is never used in the background and no footage is sent to us.
- Microphone. To record the audio of your video, and for voice-controlled scrolling if you turn it on.
- Speech Recognition. Optional. When you turn on voice-controlled scrolling, the App uses Apple's speech recognition so the script follows your voice. Depending on your device, language, and settings, Apple may process this audio on its servers under Apple's privacy policy. We do not receive your voice or the recognized text.
- Photos (add only). To save a finished video to your photo library when you ask for it. This permission only lets the App add videos. It does not let the App read or browse your existing photos.
- Files. Only the specific file you pick in the document picker is imported. The App does not scan your files or your iCloud Drive.
- Notifications. Optional reminders about your scripts and app updates. You can turn them off at any time.
- Tracking (App Tracking Transparency). Explained in Section 5.
3. The AI Script Generator
This feature is optional. It only runs when you type a prompt and tap the generate button.
a) What is sent
Only the prompt text you type, plus the topic, platform, or style options you selected on that screen. We do not attach your name, your email, your device identifier, your advertising identifier, or your other scripts to that request.
b) Who receives it
Your prompt is sent over an encrypted connection to a server we operate, hosted on DigitalOcean. That server passes the prompt to our AI provider, OpenRouter, which routes it to an AI model that writes the script. See OpenRouter's Privacy Policy and Terms, and DigitalOcean's Privacy Policy.
c) How long it is kept
Your prompt is used only to generate the reply you asked for. We do not save prompts on our servers, we do not build a history of them, and we do not add them to any profile about you. The generated script is sent straight back to your device and stored there.
d) Limits on use
We do not use your prompts to train AI models, and we do not allow our provider to use them for advertising or profiling. Your prompts are never shared with advertising or analytics partners.
e) Please keep prompts free of personal details
Because a prompt leaves your device, please do not type sensitive personal information, other people's private details, passwords, or confidential business information into it.
4. How We Use Information
- To run the App and its features, including generating a script when you ask for one
- To unlock premium features after a purchase, and to restore purchases
- To fix crashes, measure performance, and improve stability and speed
- To understand which features are used so we can decide what to build next
- To show ads, which keep the free version of the App available
- To send notifications you have allowed
- To answer your support messages
- To prevent fraud, abuse, and security problems, and to comply with the law
5. Advertising and Your Tracking Choice
The free version of the App shows ads. We use Appodeal for advertising and ad mediation. Appodeal works with advertising networks including AppLovin, Unity Ads, Liftoff / Vungle, ironSource, Mintegral, InMobi, Amazon, Bigo Ads, DT Exchange, and myTarget. These partners may receive device identifiers, IP address, and ad interaction data under their own privacy policies. See Appodeal's Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
App Tracking Transparency (iOS)
Shortly after you first open the App, and before any advertising SDK is started, iOS shows Apple's tracking prompt. This is your choice and we respect it:
- If you tap Allow, the advertising identifier (IDFA) may be used to measure ads and to show ads that are more relevant to you, across apps and websites owned by other companies.
- If you tap Ask App Not to Track, we do not use the advertising identifier for tracking, no advertising consent window is shown to you, and any ads you see are non-personalized. In the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, we go further and do not start the advertising SDK at all, so no ads are shown.
You can change this decision at any time in Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking. Buying any premium plan removes ads from the App.
Consent in the EEA and the UK
If you are in a region that requires it and you allowed tracking, an advertising consent window is shown before ads begin, and your answer decides whether ads are personalized. Nothing is collected for personalized advertising before you answer.
6. Analytics, Crash Reporting and Notifications
We use Firebase by Google, specifically Google Analytics for Firebase, Crashlytics, Performance Monitoring, Remote Config, and Cloud Messaging. These tools tell us how often features are used, when the App crashes, and how fast it runs, and they let us change certain settings without shipping an update. See Firebase privacy information and Firebase terms.
The App also schedules reminder notifications on your device, and may send notifications about the service where you have allowed them. Turning notifications off in your device settings stops them. The content of your scripts is never sent to us through notifications.
7. Purchases and Subscriptions
All payments run through Apple. Apple handles the transaction, billing, renewals, and refunds under its own terms and privacy policy. We receive only the status of your purchase so premium features can be enabled on your device, plus anonymous purchase events in analytics. We never see your card number, billing address, or Apple ID password.
8. Who We Share Information With
We share only what is described above, and only in these situations:
- Service providers who help run the App: DigitalOcean (hosting), OpenRouter (AI script generation), Google / Firebase (analytics, crash reporting, notifications), and Appodeal with its advertising partners.
- Legal reasons, where we must comply with the law, a court order, or a valid government request, or need to protect our rights, prevent fraud, or address a security issue.
- Business transfer, if the App is ever sold or transferred, in which case the information moves with it and this policy continues to apply until replaced.
- With your permission, when you clearly ask us to.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share your scripts or videos with anyone.
9. How Long Data Is Kept
- Scripts and videos: on your device until you delete them or delete the App.
- AI prompts: not stored by us.
- Setup survey answers: kept as anonymous, aggregated feedback, with no way to trace them back to you.
- Analytics and crash data: kept by Firebase for the retention period set in our Firebase project, then deleted automatically.
- Advertising data: kept by our advertising partners under their own policies.
- Support emails: kept only as long as needed to resolve your issue and keep a basic record.
10. Security
Data sent from the App travels over encrypted connections. Your scripts and videos remain in the App's private storage on your device, protected by iOS. We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the limited data we handle. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot promise absolute security.
11. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal data, to withdraw consent you gave earlier, to object to certain processing, and to opt out of personalized advertising.
In practice, you can exercise most of these yourself at any time:
- Delete any script or video inside the App, or delete the App, to remove your content.
- Change your tracking choice in Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.
- Turn off camera, microphone, speech recognition, photos, or notification access in your device settings.
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have rights under the GDPR, including the right to complain to your local data protection authority. If you live in California, you have rights under the CCPA and CPRA, including the right to know, to delete, and to opt out of the "sale" of personal information, which we do not do, and you will never be treated differently for using those rights.
For anything you cannot do yourself, email [email protected] and we will respond. Please tell us your device model and app version so we can identify the right records, as we have no account system to look you up by.
12. Children
The App is a general-audience productivity tool and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, or under the minimum age required in your country. Children should use the App only with the permission and supervision of a parent or guardian, and only a parent or guardian should make purchases. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, email [email protected] and we will delete it.
13. International Transfers
We and our service providers may process the limited data described here in countries other than yours, including the United States, where our server and several of our providers operate. Those countries may have different data protection laws. We take steps to keep your data protected in line with this policy wherever it is processed.
14. Links to Other Services
The App and this site may link to services we do not control, such as the App Store or an advertiser's page. We are not responsible for their privacy practices. Please read their policies separately.
15. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the App changes or the law requires. The "Last updated" date at the top always shows the current version. If a change is significant, we will make it clear in the App or on this site. Continuing to use the App after an update means you accept the revised policy.
16. Contact Us
